Domaine de la Motte, Camping ground in Signy-le-Petit, France
Domaine de la Motte is a campground in the Ardennes spread across ten hectares with 87 grassy pitches separated by hedges. The site has two sanitary buildings, a heated indoor pool, and provides water and electrical connections to the pitches.
The campground preserves a historic stone laundry building and a statue called the Stone Virgin that date back several generations. These structures provide glimpses into how residents once lived in this region.
The adjacent Forestry Museum displays traditional woodland crafts and shows how local communities have long depended on forest resources for their livelihood.
The campground opens from April through November, making it best suited for visits during warmer months. The flat terrain and wide spaces make it easy to navigate the entire property on foot.
A shaded path leads directly from the grounds to Etang de la Motte pond, where guests can fish or swim at a supervised sandy beach. This direct waterside access is a notable advantage that sets the location apart.
