La Rochette, Mountain campground in Guillestre, France
La Rochette is a campground in the Hautes-Alpes located at 1000 meters altitude spread across two hectares of green land. It has 112 pitches divided into separate areas for caravans, tents, and motor homes, positioned on both sunny and semi-shaded terrain.
The site opened in the 1960s as one of the first organized camping facilities in the Queyras Regional Nature Park. Its creation helped establish the area as a destination for mountain tourism.
This campground brings together visitors interested in experiencing mountain life, where you can discover how people in the Queyras valley live and what products are typical to the area. The setting allows you to observe daily rhythms and meet others who know the region well.
The campground is open daily with a reception desk, offering facilities for different types of campers and their vehicles. Since the location sits at altitude, you should be ready for mountain weather that can change throughout the day.
Each pitch features natural barriers that create private spaces for every camper without fences. This layout means almost every spot offers direct views toward the surrounding mountain landscape.
