Le Monde Miniature
Le Monde Miniature is a museum in Clécy with a 310-square-meter miniature landscape filled with details, buildings, and trains running across multiple interactive scenes. The trains move automatically along carefully designed tracks through villages, fields, and stations within this small-scale world.
The museum started in 1969 when Yves Crué created a 25-square-meter miniature world inside former lime kilns. His son Emmanuel significantly expanded the project in 1986, adding much more to the collection.
The displays show typical Normandy architecture and everyday scenes from the region that you notice as you walk through. Visitors see crafted details and local characteristics that reflect how people live here.
The museum is easy to walk through and has enough space to observe the different scenes at your own pace. It makes sense to take time looking at the details and watching the trains operate throughout the landscape.
The miniature landscape has an automatic day-night cycle with matched lighting and sound effects that create realistic transitions. This feature makes experiencing the miniature space special because the mood keeps changing.
