Établissement thermal
The thermal establishment is a bathing house with neoclassical architecture surrounded by a park filled with ancient trees in the heart of the Morvan Regional Nature Park. Inside, spacious treatment rooms with large windows overlook the grounds, and a thermal pool invites visitors to relax in naturally heated water.
According to local tradition, the springs at Saint-Honoré-les-Bains have been used for healing since Roman times, when Romans came here to benefit from the water's therapeutic effects. In the early 1900s, the thermal station developed into its current form with large treatment facilities and public pools built around these ancient sources.
The thermal establishment takes its name from the healing spring that has flowed here for centuries. Visitors can observe how the natural warm water shapes the entire experience, from the indoor pools to the outdoor spaces where locals gather to draw water for its reputed health benefits.
The thermal establishment opens from May to October and offers treatment programs for rheumatism, respiratory conditions, and ear-nose-throat issues. Group and individual care sessions are available, and specialized programs like Option Santé Active combine treatments with nutrition and fitness workshops.
Two main springs flow naturally here with different mineral compositions: Garenne springs at 24-30 degrees Celsius contain chloride and sodium, while Crevasse is rich in bicarbonate and calcium. Local residents regularly fill bottles from these sources, convinced of their healing properties passed down through generations.
