Meerwasserwellenbad
The Meerwasserwellenbad in Eckernförde is an indoor facility filled with real seawater from the Baltic Sea, located right at the beach. The main pool measures approximately 42 meters in length and generates waves every 30 minutes through a wave machine.
The facility was established several years ago and has since become a popular destination for both locals and tourists. It was created to give people a safe way to enjoy seawater swimming without facing the conditions of the open ocean.
The facility takes its name from the real seawater drawn directly from the Baltic Sea that fills its pools. Visitors experience a direct connection to the ocean that feels uncommon in daily life.
The indoor area is modern and offers different zones for relaxation and swimming throughout the year. The water is kept warm for comfortable swimming, and there is a hot tub plus a large sauna area with several temperature zones to explore.
The facility features a snow room cooled to minus 10 degrees Celsius with snow falling from the ceiling. This unusual feature offers a striking contrast between heat and extreme cold that is rarely found elsewhere in the region.
