Dünen-Therme

Dünen-Therme is a spacious thermal bath and leisure center in Sankt Peter-Ording with multiple pool areas, water slides, and wave-generating systems. The facility spans over 6,500 square meters of water surface with differently heated zones, from main pools to specialized child areas.

The thermal bath emerged from the need for modern wellness facilities along the North Sea coast of Schleswig-Holstein. Its development was part of a broader movement toward health-focused coastal tourism culture in the region.

The facility takes its name from the sand dunes along the coast and draws on natural mineral springs long valued in the region for healing purposes. Visitors come to experience the connection between wellness culture and the rugged coastal climate that shapes local life.

The thermal bath sits centrally along the beach promenade and is easily reached on foot, with different areas clearly marked for easy orientation. Visitors should bring water shoes due to slip risks on wet surfaces, and early morning or evening hours tend to be less crowded than midday.

Visitors can experience an artificial wave pool that mimics the rough conditions of the North Sea right in the heart of the facility. This feature lets guests feel the power of coastal waves even on calm days outside.
