The lighthouse, Performance hall in Nantes, France
Le Sémaphore is a performance hall on the Île de Nantes, in the city of Nantes, France. The main room holds around 278 seats and comes with a stage of roughly 100 sq ft (100 m²), along with sound and lighting equipment managed by an on-site technician.
The hall was set up as part of a project to develop cultural life on the Île de Nantes and sits within the Espace Beaulieu complex. It went through a full renovation in 2022 that improved comfort and safety while keeping the room's original character.
Le Sémaphore sits on the Île de Nantes and is part of a larger building known as Espace Beaulieu. The closeness between the stage and the seats gives evenings there a personal feel that larger venues rarely offer.
The hall is a short walk from the Vincent Gâche tram stop and several bus lines stop nearby. Just behind the building sits the Mangin parking lot, and free parking is available at the nearby Beaulieu shopping center.
The seating inside the hall can be rearranged into several layouts, including rows, a circle, or a U-shape, so the same room can serve very different types of events. The building also holds a dedicated exhibition space that can be used for displays or stands alongside evening performances.
