Alba Trattoria is an Italian restaurant in the Bogenhausen neighborhood of Munich, housed in a yellow building from the 1930s surrounded by a garden of chestnut trees. Inside, there are two rooms with dark wood walls and white-covered tables, one of them featuring a small fireplace.
The building that houses the restaurant dates back to the 1930s and was originally a villa. Since 2017, Giuseppe Dellaglio has been running it and has turned it into a regular spot for Italian food in Munich.
Alba Trattoria is run by two Italians who have worked together for more than 16 years: Pasquale Consiglio as host and Giuseppe Dellaglio as chef. Giuseppe grew up in Lombardy and learned to cook in his mother's kitchen, something you can still taste in the dishes today.
The restaurant has a garden terrace that can be used in good weather, as well as two indoor rooms. Reservations are recommended, as the place is popular with regulars.
The wines come directly from small producers in the Friuli region of Italy, bypassing regular trade channels. At the end of the meal, handmade Cantucci cookies are served with espresso, a small detail that many guests remember long after leaving.
