Kantin, Fast-food restaurant and brewery in Dudelange, Luxembourg
Kantin operates from a former locomotive repair hall, blending a microbrewery, beer bar, and restaurant with industrial design at Place Thierry Van Werveke. The space features visible brewing kettles and an open kitchen where both beer production and food preparation happen in view of diners.
This place opened in 2023 on the former Neischmelz industrial site, converting an abandoned locomotive maintenance facility into a modern dining venue. The conversion reflects efforts to honor the city's industrial past while creating new community gathering spaces.
The place houses the Twisted Cat microbrewery, whose craft beers pair with a menu built around shared boards, burgers, and meat dishes.
The restaurant opens from Wednesday through Sunday and stays open until 2 AM on Fridays and Saturdays, accommodating evening and late-night visits. Meals cost around 30 euros on average and are designed for groups sharing plates together.
The venue hosts a Brew School where visitors learn brewing techniques and participate in hands-on beer production. This direct experience reveals how intricate the processes behind the finished product truly are.
