The Hahnenkamm Race Start is a building situated at 1665 meters altitude marking the beginning of the downhill course. The route covers 3312 meters with an 860-meter vertical drop to the finish.

The first race at this location took place in 1931 and later became an annual event in the FIS World Cup calendar. Since then, this starting point has developed into one of the most recognized and feared in alpine skiing.

This starting point represents a legendary threshold in alpine skiing where athletes from around the world prove their skills under extreme conditions. For local residents and skiing enthusiasts, it symbolizes the courage and endurance required for elite winter sports.

The location is open daily from 9 AM to 4 PM for visitors wanting to experience the starting point used by world-class skiers. It is advisable to wear warm clothing, as the altitude and wind conditions are significantly colder than lower elevations.
