La Sirène, Music venue in La Rochelle, France
La Sirène is a music venue in La Rochelle, France, facing the port of La Pallice. The building spans three floors and holds a large concert hall, a smaller club, five rehearsal studios, and a recording room.
La Sirène opened on April 1, 2011, and was designed by the firm Construire, led by architect Patrick Bouchain. Bouchain had previously worked on other cultural buildings such as the Lieu Unique in Nantes and the Channel in Calais.
It is worth checking the venue's website ahead of time to find current concert dates and opening hours, as these vary depending on the program. The building sits right by the harbor and is easy to reach on foot from the city center.
Alongside its main concert hall, the venue has a smaller room called the Discoveries Club, which is set aside specifically for emerging artists. This means that on some evenings, two separate shows can run at the same time in the same building.
