Strandbad Klein Wangerooge

Strandbad Klein Wangerooge is a sandy beach along the southern side of Banter See in Wilhelmshaven. The shore has a gentle slope suitable for swimmers of different abilities, with space for sunbathing and water activities throughout the summer season.

The beach was created as a recreational facility for the local community to swim in an inland lake. Over time it has become an established destination for swimmers seeking a break from daily routines.

Local artists have painted maritime-themed murals on the Beachclub Sonnendeck building, giving the shoreline a colorful character. These works reflect the connection between the community and the waterfront that visitors encounter during their visit.

Changing rooms, showers, and a snack bar are located on-site, along with picnic and barbecue areas for visitors. The beach is typically open during the warmer months, making it easy to plan a day trip for swimming and relaxation.

Unlike North Sea beaches in the region, this inland water body remains unaffected by tidal changes, making swimming conditions more predictable. Visitors can enjoy the water without worrying about shifting tides throughout the day.
