Plage Ty Guard, Sand beach in La Trinité-sur-Mer, France.
Plage Ty Guard is a sand beach with fine sand covering much of its surface and rocky sections along both edges. The beach is sheltered by surrounding land and provides different zones for swimming and varied activities.
The name comes from a stone house with a stepped roof that once stood on Kerbihan Point, where customs officers kept watch. This building was part of the area's monitoring system for maritime activity in the bay.
This beach draws water sports enthusiasts who come for kitesurfing and sailing in its sheltered bay. You will also see volleyball players setting up nets on the sand during warmer months.
You can reach the beach by car via the D186 road, following signs toward Kerbihan Point through local streets. The rocky sections become cut off during low tide, so checking the tide schedule before visiting is helpful for your activities.
The rocky sections on both sides vanish from reach during low tide, transforming how you can use the beach. This shift creates completely different experiences depending on when you arrive.
