Wasserski Hamm Seebad
Wasserski Hamm Seebad is a water sports and leisure facility on the Haarener See in the Uentrop district. It features two wakeboard courses with cable lift systems, a wide sandy beach with shallow water, volleyball courts, grassy areas for lounging, and a small kiosk for food and drinks.
The site was developed starting in the late 1980s by the Regionalverband Ruhr as a leisure area and is part of the city project 'Hamm ans Wasser'. The water sports facility opened in 2008 after extensive testing and has since become a popular center for water sports enthusiasts in the region.
The name Seebad reflects a long tradition of using this lake as a recreation area for the local community. Today, visitors experience a place where water sports and leisure are naturally woven together, and people from the region gather here to share activities and time by the water.
The facility is easy to reach by car and has plenty of parking spaces on-site. The area is free to enter, rental equipment such as wakeboards and wetsuits can be booked locally, and changing rooms, showers, and restrooms are available for visitors.
The site offers the rare opportunity to camp directly on-site and spend several days by the lake, making it an unusual mix of day activity and overnight destination. This combination sets it apart from many other water sports facilities and allows for extended stays without much effort.
