Agios Sostis, Beach on the southern coast of Milos island, Greece

Agios Sostis is a small beach on the southern coast of the Greek island of Milos, close to the larger Provatas beach. It consists of a narrow strip of light-colored sand that leads into shallow, clear water, with large rocks and a low hill forming the backdrop.

The spot is named after Saint Sostis, a local Christian saint to whom the small chapel on the hill is dedicated. The chapel is the most visible historical element here and has been part of the island community's religious life for generations.

The beach takes its name from a small church dedicated to Saint Sostis, which sits on the hill just behind the sand. From the shore, the church is clearly visible and gives the spot a simple, understated character that sets it apart from other beaches on the island.

To reach the beach, follow the main road from Achivadolimni and park near the small chapel, from where a short dirt path leads down to the sand. There are no sun beds, umbrellas, or showers, so bringing your own supplies is the best approach, though a nearby taverna can cover basic food and drinks.

On very clear winter days, the island of Crete is sometimes visible on the horizon from this stretch of coast, about 150 km (93 mi) away. Looking south from here, no other island or coastline breaks the view, making the open sea feel unusually wide.
