Livadia, Beach on the island of Paros, Greece
Livadia is a beach on the Greek island of Paros, just a short walk from the port and town center of Parikia. The sand is soft and pale, the water is shallow near the shore, and the bay is generally sheltered, keeping the surface calm on most days.
The bay of Livadia served as a landing spot for fishermen from Parikia for many generations before it became a place to swim and rest. Over the course of the 20th century, the area gradually shifted from a working waterfront to a beach used by both residents and visitors.
Livadia sits close enough to the port of Parikia that locals often stop by after work for a quick swim. The beach bars and taverns lining the waterfront are a regular part of daily island life, not just a destination for tourists.
The beach is within walking distance of Parikia, reached by following the seafront promenade for about ten minutes from the port. Some sections have sunbeds and umbrellas for rent, while others are open and free, so it is easy to find a spot that suits your pace.
Although Livadia is just steps from a busy port, part of the beach borders a campsite, which brings a different crowd and keeps that section more open and informal. This means two very different sides of the beach coexist on the same strip of sand.
