Praia Fluvial do Ermal

Praia Fluvial do Ermal is a river beach in the Ermal reservoir surrounded by granite mountains and dense forest. The clear water offers space for swimming and water sports of all kinds.

The Ermal dam was built in the mid-20th century and created this artificial lake. The project transformed the regional landscape significantly.

The beach serves as a meeting point for regional water sports competitions, bringing together athletes from different parts of northern Portugal.

The area is open daily and has restrooms, showers, and parking for visitors. Getting around is straightforward with good access to the beach and main areas.

This location has a rare teleski system, a mechanical setup that pulls water skiers across the reservoir using an electric motor. The system is unusual in Portugal and attracts enthusiasts of this sport.
