Cala del Barco

Cala del Barco is a small cove with golden sand on the Mediterranean shore near Cartagena, framed by natural rock cliffs. The beach measures roughly 40 meters long and 20 meters wide, functioning today as a maintained swimming spot with basic amenities.

The cove began as an isolated natural inlet and was transformed in the late 1900s during the development of the La Manga Club resort area. This change opened it from a hidden spot to a managed beach accessible to many visitors.

The cove serves as a gathering place where locals and travelers experience Mediterranean coastal life together through swimming and leisure activities. The relaxed social rhythm of a working beach reflects how people use this space to connect and enjoy the seaside.
