Located on the northern shore of Canandaigua Lake, Kershaw Beach features a sandy shoreline stretching along clear waters with designated swimming zones.
The beach became a significant part of Canandaigua's recreational development in the early 20th century when the city established public access to the lake.
Every summer, local families gather at Kershaw Beach for community events, swimming lessons, and outdoor concerts that unite the Canandaigua population.
The beach operates from Memorial Day through August 23, charging non-residents $5 for adults and $2 for children between 5 and 17 years old.
Kershaw Beach provides direct access to Canandaigua Lake, one of only eleven Finger Lakes in New York State's glacially-formed lake system.
