Centre commercial Belle Épine
Centre commercial Belle Épine is a large shopping center in Thiais with more than 200 stores spread across about 140,000 square meters. The interior features wide corridors, diverse retail spaces, around 26 restaurants, and comfortable rest areas with seating and plants that welcome visitors of all ages.
The shopping center was designed and opened in 1971 by architect Henri Colboc. Its largest expansion took place in 1993, and a major renovation in 1991 brought improved signage and more space for family activities.
The shopping center takes its name from the busy intersection where roads lead toward Versailles and Fontainebleau. It has become a gathering place for people in the region, who visit not only to shop but also to spend time with family and friends.
The center is easily reached by car with 6,000 parking spaces renovated in 2006 to improve safety and capacity. Visitors can also arrive by tram line T7, bus, or the new metro connection at Chevilly-Larue station, with a special pedestrian bridge crossing the highway.
In the late 1990s, the center served as a filming location for the French film "Le Cousin". This gives the place a small connection to French cinema history.
