The restaurant sits in downtown Avignon and presents refined Mediterranean cooking that earns recognition from culinary guides. Interior rooms with wood finishes and molded details open onto a courtyard where ancient plane trees shade tables near a fountain.
The restaurant grew out of the hotel and became known for its cooking over many decades in Avignon. In 2018, Chef Pascal Auger took over the kitchen, bringing experience from several prestigious restaurants.
The kitchen showcases Mediterranean flavors prepared with ingredients sourced from Provence and other nearby regions. Dishes change regularly to reflect what the seasons offer, connecting the table to local farming traditions.
The restaurant opens Tuesday through Saturday and requires reservations to guarantee a table. Diners can choose between the courtyard for outdoor dining on pleasant days or the interior rooms for a different experience.
The interior design mixes classical elements with modern touches, including wallpaper by French artist Antoinette Poisson and contemporary neon lighting. This blend of traditional details and current accents creates an unexpected feel between historical and new.
