Tralalalek i Wałałałek, Bronze dwarf statue in Stare Miasto, Poland

Tralalalek i Wałałałek is a pair of small bronze figures standing side by side in the Old Town district of Wrocław. The two characters form a single installation that blends in with the many other miniature sculptures scattered throughout the city streets.

This bronze pair was installed in October 2016 as part of an artistic tradition that grew from the Orange Alternative movement of the 1980s. That movement used dwarf imagery as a creative form of protest against political oppression during that era.

These small bronze figures emerged from an art movement that started in the 1980s and continues to charm visitors walking through the streets. Spotting them encourages people to look more carefully at their surroundings and notice the hidden details scattered throughout the city.

This sculpture sits in the Old Town quarter near historic sites and shopping areas, making it easy to visit while exploring the neighborhood. Like all of the dwarfs in the city, you will find it best by walking slowly through the streets and keeping your eyes open for these small details.

Unlike most other dwarfs scattered throughout Wrocław, this installation features two figures together rather than a single character, giving it its own personality. This paired composition makes it an interesting spot for visitors exploring the different variations of dwarf sculptures found across the city.
