La pointe du Payré, Coastal cape in Jard-sur-Mer, France.

La Pointe du Payré is a coastal cape with cliffs and rocky formations extending into the Atlantic Ocean. Walking paths wind along the shoreline, offering views of the water and surrounding coastal terrain.

The cape has long served as a navigation landmark for ships traveling along the Atlantic coast of France. Its position helped guide vessels in this part of the Vendée region.

Local fishermen maintain traditional fishing practices along the cape's shores, contributing to the preservation of regional maritime customs and techniques.

The paths are marked and begin from a parking area near a nearby beach. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for changing weather conditions along the coast.

The rock layers display clear horizontal striations that reveal geological processes spanning millions of years. These patterns tell a story of Earth's movements and climate changes in this area.

You can discover the Pointe du Payré within the nature reserve. A 1.5-hour walk through forest and cliffs. Wear sneakers! P.S.: It’s best to go there at sunset! 🌅
