YuYuPas Tsou Cultural Tribe Park is a cultural attraction and amusement park in 樂野村 village, 阿里山鄉, Taiwan, dedicated to the Tsou indigenous people. It sits at around 1,300 meters above sea level, surrounded by tea plantations and rice terraces.
The Tsou are one of Taiwan's indigenous groups, with roots in the Alishan mountain region going back many generations. The park was created as a way for the community to share their way of life with outsiders as tourism in this part of Taiwan grew.
The park features houses built in the traditional Tsou style, using simple shapes and local materials. The community hosts daily song and dance performances, with park staff also serving as performers.
The site can be explored in half a day, though leaving enough time for the museum, the gardens, and the daily performances is a good idea. A large parking lot for cars and buses is available near the entrance, along with public restrooms.
The Tsou language is spoken by fewer than 500 people today, and the park is one of the places where it stays alive through songs and stories shared with visitors. The Tsou also grow award-winning coffee in the Alishan area, which is served at the park's own café.
