The Mini Train Des Marais operates on a 1,600-meter loop track through six hectares of parkland, featuring wooded areas, a small pond, and recreational zones where visitors can enjoy scenic rides aboard miniature trains.
Created in 1986 by Robert Delbauche, a retired modeling enthusiast, this miniature railway was inaugurated on June 3, 1989, with volunteers moving over 3,300 tons of embankment and 30 tons of steel to construct the tracks and infrastructure.
The annual steam festival, held since 1991, brings together steam engine enthusiasts and model train collectors for a two-day event showcasing operating machines and promoting technical heritage among visitors from diverse backgrounds.
The train operates daily after 2:30 PM during school holidays and on selected Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, with boarding available from the station near Saint-Martin-d'Aubigny and tickets purchasable on-site or in advance.
The railway features a 23-meter tunnel that doubles as a locomotive depot, a 20-meter wooden bridge suspended five meters high, and operates with rails between 124mm and 187mm gauge using three locomotives including a BB402 diesel replica.
