Remastered, Digital art entertainment center in Rotterdam, Netherlands
Remastered is a digital art center located beneath the Erasmus Bridge that brings traditional paintings to life through projection and LED screens. The installation uses Europe's largest indoor LED screen combined with 60 high-definition projectors across a 1,000 square meter space.
The center was founded by Dick van Zuylen from Mojo Events and Robin Groeneveld from Amstel Live, who sought to merge traditional Dutch art with digital technology. This collaboration created a new kind of venue where art history and modern media art converge.
The space showcases works by Dutch masters including Jeroen Bosch, Van Gogh, and Mondriaan transformed into interactive installations. Visitors experience these paintings in a completely new way while discovering how artistic traditions connect with modern technology.
The entrance is situated directly beneath a well-known bridge and is easy to locate. Plan for at least 90 minutes to fully explore the installations and participate in interactive activities.
A zone called Underworld allows visitors to interact with digital fish controlled by artificial intelligence that respond to movement. Body scanners enable guests to generate their own three-dimensional artworks, transforming them into creators themselves.
