Icebar, Bar in Amsterdam, Netherlands
Icebar is a bar in Amsterdam where the entire interior is constructed from ice blocks—walls, furniture, and drinking glasses are all frozen solid. The space is maintained at temperatures below freezing to preserve the icy structure throughout the day.
The concept arrived in the Netherlands in 2005, following similar ice bars that had emerged in Scandinavian countries. The idea quickly spread and began attracting visitors curious about this unusual experience.
The bar brings together visitors from around the world who gather to drink from ice glasses in a frozen setting. People use this space as a moment to experience something completely different and share the experience with others.
Guests receive insulated clothing before entering and can spend around twenty minutes inside the frozen chamber. Afterward, you can move to the heated lounge area to warm up and relax.
The venue uses advanced cooling systems to precisely maintain temperatures and prevent the ice furniture from melting. The glasses are regularly remade from fresh ice to ensure they remain intact and usable.
