Landal Warsberg
Landal Warsberg is a campsite on the edge of Saarburg in the Rhineland-Palatinate region of Germany, with pitches for tents, caravans, and motorhomes. The grounds sit on a hillside surrounded by forest, close to the rolling landscape of the Saar valley.
Saarburg was founded in the Middle Ages around a castle built on the rock above the town center. The surrounding land passed through many hands over the centuries before becoming part of the modern German state.
The name Warsberg comes from the hill that rises above Saarburg and gives this site its setting. Walking through the grounds, visitors notice how the trees come close to the pitches and how the light shifts through them at different times of day.
The site is generally open from spring through autumn and has bathroom facilities and electrical hookups for pitches. The center of Saarburg and several nearby walking trails are easy to reach on foot or by bike from here.
A short drive away is Werner Freund's wolf park, where visitors can watch wolves at close range. The Wolfsweg trail next to it passes through areas where different packs live, making it one of the few places in Germany where wolves can be observed this closely.
