Campingplatz am Nordseestrand
Campingplatz am Nordseestrand is a campground situated directly on the North Sea coast near Dornum, operating from spring through autumn. The site offers multiple accommodation types including tent pitches, caravan spaces, and small wooden cabins called Pipowagen, with modern bathroom facilities and electrical hookups available in many areas.
The site developed from the need to provide visitor access to the Wadden Sea and North Sea coast, and has been modernized over the years. Facilities were upgraded and today the grounds are managed as an organized and well-maintained location, though it once faced criticism for poor organization.
The site serves as a gathering place where visitors connect with the sea and nature at a relaxed pace. You will see families walking along the beach, people sitting by the water, and guests spending unhurried time observing wildlife and taking in the coastal surroundings.
The site is generally open from late March through early October and closes during stormy winter months for safety. Check-in is flexible with arrival times in the morning or afternoon possible, and late arrivals can be arranged by request if needed.
The grounds regularly host a music event called 'Live am Deich' where local musicians perform in the evenings during summer months. Visitors can sit outdoors on the grass, listen to music, and enjoy drinks with friends while staying near the water.
