Terreny d'acampada Era de Santus, Mountain campground in Queralbs, Spain.
Terreny d'acampada Era de Santus is a camping area positioned near the Sanctuary of Nuria, surrounded by meadows and forests within the Ter and Freser headwaters natural park. The site accommodates 50 to 80 campers and includes four toilets, four cold-water showers, spring water access, and electrical power from an on-site generator.
The camping ground occupies a traditional agricultural terrace shaped by centuries of local farming in the Catalan Pyrenees. This ancient land use remains visible in how the terrain is arranged and how it fits into the surrounding landscape.
The site sits near traditional mountain paths that connect to small Romanesque churches and old shepherd routes still visible across the landscape today.
The site is best reached by taking a regular train to Ribes de Freser, then switching to a cogwheel railway to Queralbs, and finally hiking up a mountain path for about 30 minutes. This route brings you directly to the camping area through scenic mountain terrain.
Reaching the site requires using three different modes of transport in sequence: train, cogwheel railway, and mountain hiking. This journey itself becomes part of the camping experience, creating a real sense of traveling into a remote mountain location.
