Thermes
The Thermes de Cransac is a thermal spa in a small town in southern France that uses natural mineral waters and geothermal gases from underground springs. The facility offers multiple pools at varying temperatures along with specialized steam cabins designed for therapeutic treatments of joints, muscles, and circulation issues.
The town of Cransac used its healing waters for medical treatments before the 19th century, before mining transformed the economy and temporarily turned the town into an industrial center. After the mines closed in 1961, the thermal baths were refounded in 1963 and expanded into a modern center in 2003 to revive the ancient healing tradition.
The baths are open in the evening from late afternoon until around 9 PM, offering a quiet time to enjoy the warm vapors and relax. The location is close to several charming villages like Conques and Belcastel, making it easy to combine with day trips.
The bath is one of the few places in Europe that offers gas therapy and uses natural geothermal gases rising from the earth for treatment. These specialized vapor treatments focus on circulation problems and heart complaints, setting them apart from other European thermal baths.
