The venue opened in late 2019 as a new addition to Coolangatta's local scene, founded by Brodie Edwards and Kane Brigg as their first establishment. Its creation brought a modern addition to the traditionally relaxed beach town, expanding the area's evening gathering options.

The name Moxy's reflects a laid-back spirit that fits Coolangatta's casual beach lifestyle. This rooftop space has become a gathering place where visitors and locals naturally come together after beach days to share drinks and feel the ocean breeze.

The cocktail menu was designed by Terry O'Donnell, a renowned mixologist who crafted each drink with careful attention to flavor. The beverages have playful names like Hot Lips, TIKI Time, and Lemon Vanilla Spritz, using unusual ingredients such as jalapeño tequila, gold rum with mint, and Limoncello that you won't find everywhere.
