Black Isle Bar & Rooms, Pub, pizzeria, and guesthouse in Inverness, Highland, Great Britain
Black Isle Bar & Rooms is a pub, pizzeria, and guesthouse on Church Street in the center of Inverness, in the Highland region of Great Britain. It has 14 rooms above the main bar, each with an en-suite bathroom, and a hidden garden bar at the back.
Church Street is one of the oldest streets in Inverness and has been part of the city's daily life for centuries. The building that now houses the bar and rooms has over time shifted from being a purely local pub to a place that also takes in overnight guests.
The name refers to the Black Isle, a peninsula north of Inverness that is not actually an island despite its name. Inside, locals and travelers share the same tables over pizza and drinks, giving the place an easy, everyday feel.
The bar is on Church Street in central Inverness, within walking distance of both the train and bus stations. Rooms are generally available from 3 pm, and dogs are welcome for a small additional fee.
The garden bar at the back stays open until midnight and is hidden from the street, making it easy to miss even for regular visitors to the area. Some of the rooms look directly down onto this garden, so guests can watch it from above.
