Mirante Edileusa Lóz, Observation tower in Parque do Rio Branco, Boa Vista, Brazil
Mirante Edileusa Lóz is an observation tower located inside Parque do Rio Branco, in the center of Boa Vista, in the Brazilian state of Roraima. The structure stands about 300 ft (93 m) tall and has a glass-floor viewing deck at the top, reached by 2 elevators, one of which offers a panoramic view during the ride.
The tower was inaugurated at the end of 2020 as an initiative of the then mayor Teresa Surita, who wanted to give the city a high vantage point. Its name honors Edileusa Lóz, a former city employee who also ran as a candidate for vice mayor of Boa Vista.
Visitors must book tickets in advance through the online platform Shopingressos, which opens for reservations on Monday afternoons. The tower opens Wednesday to Sunday from the afternoon onward; after brief rain, a 30-minute wait is required before entry, and visits are suspended during heavy rain.
The viewing deck at the top has a glass floor that lets visitors look straight down toward the ground far below, making the height feel very immediate. The tower is also considered the tallest vantage point in the entire northern region of Brazil.
