The Jardín Botánico de Bellevue, also known as the Bellevue Botanical Garden, is a botanical garden in Bellevue, Washington, featuring cultivated beds, restored woodlands, and natural wetlands. The plants are mostly from the Pacific Northwest, and the overall look of the garden shifts noticeably from one season to the next.
The garden opened in 1992, born from a joint effort between the city of Bellevue and the Bellevue Botanical Garden Society. That partnership has since guided the ongoing care and development of the site.
The Bellevue Botanical Garden sits on Main Street and is woven into the everyday life of many residents who return through different seasons. QR codes placed near the plants let visitors look up detailed information about each species directly on their phones.
The garden is open every day from dawn to dusk, while the gift shop and coffee bar keep seasonal hours that are worth checking before your visit. Dogs are not allowed inside, only service animals, and bicycles and scooters must be left at the racks near the entrance.
Although entry is free, the garden sits right next to Wilburton Hill Park, where leashed dogs are welcome, making it easy for groups to split between the two spaces. Drones are also explicitly banned inside the garden, a rule that helps keep the overall atmosphere undisturbed for everyone.
