Bellevue City Hall, Municipal administration center in Downtown Bellevue, Washington.
Bellevue City Hall is a nine-story government building located at 450 Bell Terrace in the downtown area, designed with modern functionality in mind. Six operational floors house various city departments and administrative offices that manage the city's daily services.
The current structure was completed in 2006 and repurposed a site that once housed a Qwest data center originally built in 1983 for Pacific Northwest Bell. This reuse of an existing location showed how the city reorganized its administration within a modernized space.
The interior features wood finishes and the exterior displays terra cotta details that give this civic center a warm, distinctive character. These design choices make the building stand out from ordinary office structures in the downtown area.
The building is open during business hours and visitors can attend city council meetings or access municipal services. The downtown location makes it easy to find and provides the main administrative offices in one convenient place.
Before the city moved into this building, its administrative offices were scattered across five different locations, including the original schoolhouse built in 1893. This consolidation brought together the fragmented administration under one roof for the first time.
