City Center East, Office building in Washington, US
City Center East spans 26 stories tall and incorporates large glass panels with modern architectural elements throughout its exterior facade.
The construction of City Center East commenced in 2009 under the direction of ZGF Architects LLP, marking a new phase in Washington's urban development.
The building serves as the headquarters for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, housing approximately 700 employees in an open-plan environment.
The structure features an underfloor ventilation system that uses filtered outside air and a rainwater collection system for irrigation purposes.
A rooftop Phase Change Material storage tank captures and releases cold energy for cooling, reducing the building's overall energy consumption.
