The monument to Amet-Khan Sultan is a memorial in the Zavolzhsky district of Yaroslavl, Russia. It consists of two tall silver steel columns with a bronze bust of the pilot set on a granite base between them, and a lit aircraft silhouette with red stars at the top.

Amet-Khan Sultan was a Soviet combat pilot in World War II who fought in battles across the country, including over Yaroslavl, and became one of the most decorated airmen of his time. The decision to build this memorial was made in 2008, and it was unveiled on July 30, 2010.

Amet-Khan Sultan was of Lak and Tatar origin, and the monument reflects how people of different backgrounds served together in the Soviet military. On Victory Day in May, locals often gather here to lay flowers and pay their respects.

The monument stands at a busy crossroads in the Zavolzhsky district and is easy to reach on foot from nearby streets. Coming in the morning or late afternoon gives you more space and quiet to look around without heavy traffic nearby.

When Amet-Khan Sultan ran out of ammunition during an air battle over Yaroslavl, he rammed his aircraft into a German bomber and survived. This type of attack, known in Russian as taranirovaniye, was a rare combat method that became widely described in Soviet literature and film.
