Zangkejiang Bridge, Suspension bridge in Guizhou Province, China.
The Zangkejiang Bridge is a steel truss suspension bridge stretching 1,849 meters across the Zangke River, featuring a main span of 1,080 meters and a deck positioned 410 meters above the water surface below.
Construction of the bridge began on November 18, 2021, as part of the Naqing Expressway project to connect Nayong County and Qinglong County, with completion scheduled for February 14, 2025.
The bridge represents regional development in southwestern China, connecting remote communities in Guizhou Province and enabling improved economic exchanges between the Liupanshui region and Qianxinan Buyei and Miao Autonomous Prefecture.
The bridge accommodates a dual carriageway with four lanes designed for speeds up to 100 kilometers per hour, and is accessible year-round with regular maintenance to ensure safety during adverse weather conditions.
The south tower rises 265 meters in height, with substantial sections extending below the truss level to support the enormous span across the deep limestone canyon carved by the Beipanjiang River system.
