Przemysl Glowny Train Station
Przemysl Glowny Train Station is the main railway hub of the city located in eastern Poland near the Ukrainian border. The building features five platforms and nine tracks, including standard gauge lines for Polish trains and broad gauge tracks connecting to Ukraine.
The building was constructed between 1859 and 1860 as part of the major railway line connecting Krakow to Lviv. A comprehensive renovation in 1895 reinforced its status as a key junction in European rail networks.
This station has connected the people of Przemyśl to distant places for nearly 170 years. The architecture reflects its role as a gathering point where travelers from different lands have crossed paths and shared stories.
The station is located in the city center at Pl. Legionów and is easily reached on foot from downtown. Travelers will find direct connections to several European capitals including Berlin, Bratislava, Budapest, and Vienna.
The station grounds feature two different track gauges running side by side, reflecting its unique role as a bridge between two railway systems. This rare infrastructure allows trains from Poland and Ukraine to meet and continue their journeys without transferring passengers.
