The Court of Nobles - Christmas Market
La Cour des Nobles - Marché de Noël is a Christmas market in the village of Riquewihr spread across cobblestone streets with approximately eleven wooden stalls. The stalls feature local specialties including chocolate, smoked meats, jams, brandy, and Alsatian whisky, along with handmade decorations and crafts.
Riquewihr was established as a trading town centuries ago and many original buildings still stand today, bearing witness to its past. The Christmas market has been organized in recent years by Martine and Denis, who focus on creating a quality experience rooted in regional traditions.
The Cour des Nobles reflects Alsatian craftsmanship traditions through handmade goods and regional specialties displayed at each stall. Visitors experience living local customs through folk music, traditional drinks, and carefully selected products that embody the region's heritage.
The market is open daily throughout December and features roughly eleven stalls on cobblestone streets that are easier to enjoy on weekdays when crowds are lighter. Comfortable shoes are recommended since the streets are made of cobblestones and slightly uneven, and the Navette de Noël shuttle runs from Colmar or the relay parking in Hunawihr operates regular shuttles.
The market is also called Le Sentier des Saveurs, meaning The Path of Flavors, a name reflecting the variety of tastes visitors discover here. A standout specialty is filet mignon with foie gras, a regional favorite dish that many guests savor during their visit.
