Port Pienin
Port Pienin is a rafting and kayaking center in Szczawnica where visitors can paddle on the Dunajec River through the Pieniny Mountains. The river flows through a narrow gorge with tall cliffs on both sides, and the water moves gently enough for beginners but with enough current to keep the ride interesting.
The Dunajec River and Pieniny region have long been used for water transport and travel. Modern rafting tourism developed in the 20th century as outdoor activities became popular and local operators began organizing guided boat trips through the gorge.
The center rents different boat types for various group sizes and skill levels, from small kayaks to larger rafts. Life jackets, helmets, and cold-weather gear are provided, and staff offer basic instruction and safety guidance for first-time paddlers.
The staff here includes operators with experience in Olympic kayaking competitions who bring their professional background to the guided trips. Their deep connection to the area and river creates a more personal and knowledgeable experience than many other rafting centers offer.
