Gut Aiderbichl
Gut Aiderbichl is an animal shelter in Henndorf am Wallersee where more than 8,000 animals live across about 30 farms throughout Europe. The property provides horses, pigs, chickens, rabbits, and other animals with open enclosures and pastures where they can move freely and rest.
The facility was founded in 2001 and has grown into a network of farms across six European countries. The property itself was originally a traditional farm but has been transformed into a refuge for animals rescued from difficult situations.
Gut Aiderbichl demonstrates what respectful animal care looks like in daily practice and allows visitors to witness this approach firsthand. The place embodies the belief that animals deserve protection and protection and makes this conviction visible through every interaction on the farm.
The property is open daily from morning until late afternoon with ample parking nearby. Guided tours can be arranged and are suitable for visitors of all ages, with dogs welcome to accompany you.
Founder Michael Aufhauser envisioned a future where animals would not need protection from humans, but where people naturally treat animals well. This philosophy continues to guide the work here and makes it a place of hope for a better future.
