Paticeo / Maison Colibri, Chocolatier and pastry shop in Pons, France
Paticeo / Maison Colibri is a chocolatier and pastry shop in the center of Pons, in southwestern France. The shop sells chocolates, biscuits, and madeleines made on site.
The shop was founded in 1896 near the Pons train station, starting out as a small biscuit factory. In 2017, the business took back the name Maison Colibri and renewed its identity.
Maison Colibri is known above all for its madeleines, baked from recipes that have been passed down over generations. Visitors can look at the finished pieces in glass cases and try a few varieties before choosing what to take home.
The shop is close to the center of Pons and easy to reach on foot while exploring the town. The smell of freshly baked goods can guide you from the street before you even spot the entrance.
The first madeleines from Maison Colibri were baked in a small factory next to the train station so that travelers could buy them on their way to the platform. Today, old photos and tools inside the shop trace the story of how the business has changed over time.
