The Jardins de la Mer is a seaside park in the center of Royan, in southwestern France. Wide lawns open up between rows of trees, and flat paths run through the whole area, connecting different parts of the green space.
Royan was almost entirely rebuilt after World War II and redesigned as a modern seaside resort. The park was created during that period as part of the reconstruction effort, which gave the town more green spaces and public areas by the water.
The Jardins de la Mer sit right next to the Grande Conche beach, so many visitors combine a walk in the park with time by the water. In summer, local artists sometimes set up outdoor exhibitions on the lawns, placing paintings on easels between the trees.
