Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum, Motorcycle museum in Birmingham, Alabama, US

The Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum is a transport museum in Birmingham, Alabama, holding the largest motorcycle collection in the world. The five-story building uses a glass elevator to move vehicles between floors, so motorcycles are visible on every level.

George Barber, a former car racer from Birmingham, began collecting motorcycles in the 1980s and first stored them in a warehouse. After selling his family dairy business, he invested over 50 million dollars in a new building and a racetrack that opened in 2003.

The museum sits in Leeds, a suburb east of Birmingham, and is easy to reach by car. Restorers work behind glass walls on-site, so visitors can watch old bikes and vehicles being cleaned and repaired during their visit.

Alongside its motorcycles, the museum holds one of the largest collections of Lotus race cars in the US. Scattered around the grounds are metal sculptures, including hidden figures such as Bigfoot fishing or a police officer walking a tiger.
