Promenade, Pedestrian promenade in Sarbinowo, Poland
The Promenada is a paved coastal walkway in Sarbinowo, on the Baltic Sea coast in Poland, running directly along the beach. It is wide enough for pedestrians, strollers, and wheelchairs, lined with benches and lit by lamp posts that keep the path accessible after dark.
The area along the shore was protected from the early 20th century by a stone and concrete wall built to hold back the sea. In 2013, this old defensive structure became the foundation for the new walkway, which was built directly on top of it.
The Promenada is a gathering spot where families, older visitors, and tourists naturally mix, especially during summer evenings. It is common to see people stopping at small food stands, sitting on benches, or simply watching the sea go by.
The walkway is flat and step-free, making it easy to use for people of all ages and mobility levels. Beach access points are available along the way, and food stands and cafes are nearby.
Although the Promenada looks like a modern construction, it rests on a wall that was already standing in 1910, built to defend the coast from erosion. This makes it one of the few coastal walkways in the region that literally sits on top of a structure over a century old.
