D0 motorway, Czech motorway, outer ring road of Prague
D0 is a ring motorway around Prague in the Central Bohemian Region. This multi-lane controlled-access highway connects different parts of the city and surroundings, allowing vehicles to bypass the city center while reducing congestion on local streets.
The first section opened in the 1980s on Prague's eastern side. Additional segments were gradually added over the following decades as part of a long-term infrastructure project still under completion today.
The motorway is well-marked with clear directional signs and multiple exit ramps at various interchanges. Expect slower traffic during daytime rush hours and weekends, and remember that speed limits and safety regulations apply on this controlled-access highway.
A notable feature is the Radotínský Bridge, one of the country's longest bridges spanning a valley. Additional tunnels like the Komořany Tunnel allow vehicles to navigate challenging terrain while minimizing impact on nearby communities.
