Church of the Finding of the True Cross

The Church of the Finding of the True Cross is a baroque structure built as part of a Dominican monastery complex, featuring ornamental decorations and a grand central altar with richly worked details. The church was originally established in 1230 as a place of religious significance in the city. A devastating fire in 1555 destroyed its library and precious religious objects, leading to major reconstruction and renovation of the structure.

The church remains an active place of worship where people gather for religious services and spiritual observances. The impressive altarpiece created by F. A. Maulbertsch in 1765 demonstrates the artistic talent that flourished in the region during the baroque period.
