Cathedral of St Nicholas, České Budějovice

The Cathedral of St Nicholas is a baroque church building in the center of České Budějovice featuring a three-nave layout divided by three pairs of substantial prismatic pillars. The interior houses the main altar from 1791 designed by Z. Hueber and contains various artistic works from different periods.

The foundation stone was laid in 1265 shortly after the city was established, with the initial consecration taking place in 1297. The baroque style significantly shaped the building's appearance in later centuries.
